My wife, Dorit, a local optometrist, and I moved to Palo Alto in 1988 for the exceptional quality of life and schools. We have three children. Laura, our oldest is now a freshman at Carnegie Mellon University in the School of Computer Science, Emily is a freshman in high school at Castilleja and Jason is a fifth grader at Walter Hays Elementary School.
I graduated Bowdoin College in Maine with a B.A. in economics and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law (1986) in New York City and spent a semester at the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of law as a visiting student. Through an interdisciplinary program, I also completed 18 credits at Columbia Business School.
I have practiced law in Palo Alto for almost 10 years on Park Boulevard near California Avenue. I have a general practice representing small- and medium-size business, individuals and school districts. I am experienced in negotiations, land use, labor law, finance, mediation, arbitration and litigation.
As a 20-year Palo Alto resident, local business owner and father of three children who’ve attended local schools, I strongly value our schools and understand their vital importance to our community. As an attorney and a Palo Alto resident, I have had extensive experience with land use issues, issues facing our local business community and issues that affect the day-to-day lives of the people in our community. As an attorney, I fully understand the legislative process: how to draft an ordinance and the many legal issues that continually face our city as well as how to advocate for the issues I believe in. I love this community and am committed to preserving the wonderful quality of life that we have in Palo Alto.
